'I want a bigger role with Shah Rukh'

Vidya Balan is unsatisfied with just a guest appearance with Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. She wants more. "That was more a 'gust' than a guest appearance," she laughs. "I want to do a full role with Shah Rukh. Inshan Allah, if things go well, I am sure it will happen soon." After being appreciated for her sexy two-minute cameo, Vidya is kicked about her next release Halla Bol. "It's set on the film industry like Om Shanti Om. My moment of glory in OSO was that I shared the same frame with Shah Rukh Khan. It's a fleeting appearance. But it was worthwhile because of the attention paid to details," she says.In her next film Lucky Charm with Shahid Kapur, Vidya sports a new look sans glamour. "I wear very ordinary clothes. The kind that any ordinary Indian girl abroad would wear. Actually Akki Nirula was to do my clothes. Then there were some problems on location in Toronto. So Shabina Khan who had so far done only men's clothes has stepped in to do female clothes for the first time. I realise how important clothes and the looks are to a character. I can't be blasé about it."But Vidya is carefree when it comes to interacting with her fans. "If filmmakers don't like you, it's okay. But the audience has to. I always try to be cordial with people who approach me for photographs," she says modestly. On reports that she had to lose weight for her film, she protests, "I haven't lost any weight lately, not for Lucky Charm, as reported. In fact, Aziz Mirza saab urged me to eat more. He likes to see his actors look like real people on screen, not slim mannequins."To prove her point, she recalls an incident, "We were in Toronto for the shoot and I wanted to eat a blueberry muffin. While I was in two minds, Aziz saab pushed me to indulge. I've yet to meet someone as warm as him."But she does agree that she lost a lot of weight during the shoot of Bhool Bhulaiya. "That was due to the amount of dancing I had to do. Also, because we were at a beautiful open-aired location, I'd just plug on my ipod and walked for stretches on the harbour front. I'm a very space-oriented person."On her co-star Akshay Kumar in Bhool Bhulaiya, she says, "Akshay is full of beans. When you watch him work you know why he has reached his position today. He works so hard and yet has so much fun. He's so clued into every aspect of cinema. I love working with Akshay." She is also happy that she has been able to work with other co-stars like Sanjay Dutt and Saif Ali Khan. "With Sanjay and Saif, I started my film career. Then I worked with Mr Bachchan and Abhishek, John Abraham, Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan, Shiny Ahuja, Madhavan. And now with Pankaj Kapoor in Halla Bol. I couldn't have been luckier. I've learnt a lot from all these co-stars." Busy with promoting Bhool Bhulaiya and now Halla Bol, Vidya hasn't had time for anything else. "I couldn't sign any films. But now started reading scripts again."
